•  Leaky roofs – this is one of the most common reasons that homeowners call a roofer, because the presence of water in the home is highly undesirable! There are a wide variety of reasons why a roof may leak. It could be due to worn bedding and pointing, missing tiles, or poorly installed flashing. A roofer can evaluate the source of the problem and suggest necessary roof repairs.
• Pooling water – with a well-maintained roof, and a proper drainage system in place, water should never be pooling on a roof. If this is occurring, it can lead to a variety of structural issues that impact the integrity of the roof. Pooling water may occur due to blocked roof valleys, poor sloping, and insufficient guttering.
• Lifted or missing tiles – roof tiles may be prone to the effects of the environment. In extreme instances, they can even blow away as the roof begins to age. Depending upon the severity of this issue, repair or replacement may be an option.
• Moisture in the roof void– the presence of moisture in the attic typically indicates that the roof’s ventilation system is insufficient for the space. There are solutions to help homeowners overcome any damage that may have occurred as a result of the moisture (including dry rot, and mold). Additional ventilation can also be installed following an assessment.
